See PBLS transform into a Spanish style tapas bar each week, offering a variety of authentic Spanish tapas, beer/wine, and live and recorded music from Spain and around the world! Reserve a seat today or stop by on a Tuesday and see what all the excitement is about!
“Tapas” (meaning “cap”) in Castilian Spanish are a culinary and cultural aspect of Spanish culture that has a long and rich history throughout the entire Iberian peninsula. Some say that the term tapa refers to the little morsel of food, often on a small piece of bread, placed on top (as a cap) of an after work drink (perhaps a “caña” of beer or a “copa” of wine) to keep the flys out of the drink. Other versions of the etymology comes from the fact that tapas are eaten hours before the late night dinners traditionally served past 9:00 or 10: 00 PM around the Mediterranean. A few tapas and a drink is enough to “cap” your appetite until dinner.
Wherever the term tapa came from, nothing beats these savory treats served a la carte or grouped together as a meal, with a glass of wine, and great company!
