Penobscot School recognizes that language learning extends beyond the bounds of the language itself. The school therefore offers an extensive array of cultural events throughout the year intended to broaden perspectives by bringing global-minded people together. Check our events page often for updates to our changing list of stimulating activities including ethnic meals, lectures, films, speakers, and demonstrations. Penobscot Language School will host a Latin American dinner prepared by Chef Tom Sigler, formerly of Comida Latin Kitchen, in support of the Rotary Wheelchair project. On the menu are ceviche, roast chicken with plantains and salsa aji verde, and humitas, a tamale with masa, cinnamon and raisins. Since 2015 450+ wheelchairs have been provided to needy individuals in Panama, Belize, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Why Culture Camp? At Penobscot Language School we believe that young people are the key to global understanding.
