Guatemalan Meal to Benefit Midcoast Interact

In the kitchen for a meal to benefit Team Midcoast Interact's trip to Safe Passage in Guatemala. What a great time with Team Midcoast Interact this past Thursday as they prepared an authentic Guatemalan meal with Rockland Mayor, Louise MacLellan-Ruf.  These high school students will travel to Safe Passage in Guatemala next month in order to work with at-risk families. Their hands-on social service work has benefited many. Part of the evening’s festivities included raffling off a basket willed with donations from local businesses including a gift certificate to Francine’s in Camden, sails on Liberty Cruises, a family membership to the Farnsworth Art Museum, a FIORE gift pack and a hand-made bowl. Students also drew raffle winners for “Rockport Roofline,” a print donated by local artist, Tim Lawson, and a pearl necklace donated by local jewelry designer, Etienne Perret.  The meal included chicken pepian, black beans and rice, salad, bread, flan and lots of laughter and fun.  We thank everyone who attended!  What a great way to start the New Year!
