Italian Cooking and Conversation: Lesson II

On the menu last evening were pollo all creta or chicken baked in terra-cotta, piselle e funghi or peas with mushrooms, and tiramisu con pandoro.  Students enjoyed learning Italian while cooking items that were new and creative.  Baking a chicken in clay?  Well, when the chicken is done, the clay is broken with a hammer (or rolling pin!) and the chicken emerges, beautifully cooked and juicy.  And tiramisu; we all know that layered, delicious dessert.  Leslie and students made it another wonderful evening of cooking, learning and partaking.  There will be more amazing, regional dishes for next week!Photo6Photo11
