Immersion Student Recalls Personal Connections Made

Elena Martini, a 2014 English Immersion student from Modena, Italy, has returned to Maine with her husband.  She and her husband are touring parts of Canada.  Maine is also on the list as they are visiting Elena’s hosts, Robert and Leslie Fillnow.  A brief visit to the school allowed Elena to recall the connections she formed with other students from around the globe and the relationships she now has here in Maine.  For Elena, learning was important, but forming connections was by far the most meaningful part of the immersion.  Penobscot School continues to connect people and places!  Hosting is but one way to be part of the school’s immersion program.  Many community members prepare meals, take students on outings, etc.  Let us know if you would like to be part of our growing family!
