Jewish Immigration, a talk by Professor/Rabbi Freidenreich was well attended. This event, held in conjunction with the 2017 Camden Conference, focused on Jewish immigration in the late 19th and early 20th century. Dr. Freidenreich discussed the reasons behind the immigration, jobs of these New Mainers, competition between early immigrants and local merchants, and the generic fear of “the other” that can beckon difficulties. More than forty people packed the room for this informative talk.
