Lena Faber, native Russian, worked as a journalist for one of the leading Russian newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomoletz” and inflight magazine “Aeroflot”. She also produced short movies for satellite TV. She was distinguished with an award from the Journalists Union of Russia for her weekly column “200,000 km around Moscow,” which was published later by the major publishing house AST as a book with a circulation of 15,000. In 2009 she moved to South Africa and became an associate professor at the UNISA, (University of South Africa) in the World Languages Department. In 2014 she hiked the Appalachian Trail, then criss crossed the States on her bike. She travelled through more than 30 countries, and last year she stopped in Maine.
