INTRO TO AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) with Valerie Bianchini

Intro to ASL is the first in a series of courses designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed to communicate in American Sign Language. As an introductory level course students establish a novice range of communication skills. By the end of the 10 week session, students should be able to demonstrate basic signing, including the alphabet, basic salutations, common expressions and basic conversation skills. This course emphasizes the cultural practices distinct to those that approach the world from a visual perspective.

*The 2021 Fall Session begins on Monday the 13th of September and ends on Saturday December 4th. The week of Thanksgiving there are no classes. The final week of classes is November 29th – December 4th. The following week (December 6-10) will be used for any make-up classes due to instructor cancelation or other class conflict.
