The comprehensive approach to language learning at Penobscot School includes work in language proficiency, the ability to communicate effectively, and an overview of cultural aspects associated with the student’s language of choice. The school is committed to offering a variety of methods to fully engage learners of all ages and at all levels. This includes the opportunity to study language and culture through culinary activity in the school’s newly renovated, state-of-the art kitchen.
Reasons for language learning vary. Some wish to travel. Others enjoy the health benefits associated with learning a language other than one’s native tongue. Some want to revive rusty language skills. Still others enjoy the rich experience of reading the literature of other cultures. Whatever your reason, please join us!
To encourage healthy social distancing, and flatten the curve of COVID19, all PLS Spring Session classes will start online April 20, 2020 (with Zoom). In-class sessions (at the school) will resume in Rockland as soon as it is deemed safe by local and state health officials. In the meantime, we hope to see you online!
